The Budget Intex part 2

This handset has dual SIM and comes with  a 1GHz processor with 256MB RAM and 92MB free storage. The handset runs on the Android 2.3.6 ginger bread  OS. No 3G and GPS support as well. The display screen is 3.5 inches with HVGA resolution.

There is a rear camera of 5MP which is decent enough if you consider the price and no front camera which is disappointing  . As for connectivity there is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack. The battery of 1400 mAh capacity gives talktime of up to 5 hours as claimed by the company .

The Budget Intex Part 1

Intex aqua swadesh funny name right well if you see the price you will truly feel the name is right well it’s an android 2.3 gingerbread phone with 256 MB of ram and just for 3790 rs. Isn’t it just awesome well the specs are not that awesome let’s have a look

Key specs

  • Dual SIM with Dual Standby.
  • 1GHz MTK6515 single core processor.
  • Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread).
  • 256MB RAM, 76MB storage and micro SD support up to 32GB.
  • 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen with 320×240 pixel resolution.
  • 2MP rear FF camera without flash. No front camera.

The dual-core celkon with No 3G

Celkon recently released a new phone namely the celkon A62 the handset has many nice and tempting features let’s have a look

  • Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) with Dual standby mode.
  • 1GHz Dual core MTK6577 + PowerVR SGX 531 GPU.
  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
  • 4.7 inch capacitive touchscreen with 854×480 pixels (FWVGA) resolution. (208.44 ppi).
  • 8MP AF camera with LED + 2MP front camera.
  • 2G (Edge/GPRS), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5mm jack.
  • Sensors: Light, G-Sensor and proximity sensors.
  • 1800 mAh Standard Li-ion battery.
  • Price Rs. 6,799

So the phone is good with a 4.7” screen with a decent screen resolution an 8MP AF camera and 2MP front the only main bad thing about this phone is No 3G or GPS but if you can live without that this might just be the phone for you.

The quad-core spice:update to the old pinnacle

S-mobility has released the spice stellar pinnacle pro which is the upgraded version of spice stellar which was released in 2012 the specs are almost identical except this time it has a Quad core processor let’s have a look at the specs

Key specs:

1.2 GHz quad core.
5.3 inch capacitive touch screen with 960×540 pixels resolution.
1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and micro SD support.
Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
8MP rear AF camera with LED flash + front wide angle 5MP camera.
3G, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, micro USB and 3.5mm jack.
Battery capacity : 2550.
Price : Rs. 14,990.
Weighs in at 200 grams

So as you see it has a stunning 5 MP front camera but what is disappointing here is that for such a large screen of 5.3” only 960X540 pixels resolution is provided which will look like a piece of printed paper which is unclear so all in all the phone is good only screen resolution and price is a point of matter

Samsung Galaxy Young vs Samsung Galaxy Y which one should you go for

people using galaxy Y from Samsung should be at delight as the new galaxy young not only gives you the taste of the latest android 4.1 jelly bean but also the processor is upgraded to 1 GHz as compared to the 830 MHz processor by Broadcom also the ram is being kept at 768 mb instead of the old 290 mb. Gaming will also be a delight compared to the old galaxy Y the pricing is crucial as it would be near the galaxy Y range possibly under 10,000. At this point a 5 MP camera would be loved but instead it supports only a 3 MP camera with no led flash same as galaxy Y but Galaxy young does have a edge over galaxy Y in terms of the screen size with it being bumped up to 3.2 inch

Samsung Galaxy Young vs Samsung Galaxy Y :

So I am pretty sure that it is better than Galaxy Y but if it’s priced right it can have a sweet spot in the Indian market but in the range of around 10,000 you can get some awesome phone by Micromax, Karbonn, Lava etc. I recommend you probably buy Micromax canvas 2 or lava iris 501 in the range.

Karbonn A111 5 inch ICS smartphone with scorpion dual core processor

The Karbonn Smart A111 is another upcoming ICS dual core handset from Karbonn already listed on the Flipkart website with a price tag of Rs. 10,290. The handset is currently not available and is expected to hit the markets, soon.
The Smart A111 is a bar type phone with dual SIM capabilities. It sports a 5 inch screen with 4 touch sensitive buttons on the front side. The screen resolution is not mentioned but I believe it could be 800×480 pixels or probably qHD.
The processor is dual core Qualcomm Scorpion clocked at 1.2GHz sailing on 512MB RAM with 4GB internal storage. Micro SD card slot is available that can hold SD card of up to 32GB. There are dual cameras a front VGA for video calls and 5MP rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, face detection and burst mode.
The Karbonn Smart A111 supports 3G (7.2 Mbps – HSDPA), 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack and micro USB. The handset also comes with built in FM receiver. The A111 comes with 2100 mAh battery.
The quad core handsets are delayed cause of Chinese New Year and there are just too many dual core handsets being launched recently. The price tag of Rs. 10,290 seems high especially when the quad core Karbonn S1 titanium is priced at just over 10K.
Karbonn A111 key features and specifications
  • Dual SIM, 1GHz Dual core (QUALCOMM Scorpion).
  • Android 4.0 (ICS) OS.
  • 5 inch capacitive touch screen with either 800×480 pixels or 960×540 pixels.
  • 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and micro SD slot.
  • 5MP AF primary camera with LED flash + front secondary camera.
  • 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi (Hotspot), micro USB, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm jack and FM radio.
  • Sensors: G-Sensor, proximity and light sensors.
  • 2100 mAh battery.
  • Price Rs. 10,290. (buy from Flipkart)

Lemon P100 5 inch ICS phones with DVGA resolution

The Lemon P100 also called the Lemon Note will be powered by a dual core processor with 8MP camera running ICS OS over a 5 inch screen with DVGA resolution i.e. 960X640 pixels. The handset will probably come powered by the MediaTek processor.
The handset weighs 145 grams with a 10.7mm thickness. The Lemon P100 comes with 4 touch buttons on the front side and looks identical to the Samsung Galaxy handsets. Its dual SIM and dual core clocked at 1GHz with 3G support
The specs are similar to as found on the Micromax A110, Lava Iris 501 and many other handsets. There is an 8MP auto focus camera with LED flash and a front cam for video chat. Other features included are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5mm jack.
The Lemon P100 comes with G-Sensor, light and proximity sensor. The battery is of a good 2500 mAh capacity more that what we have seen on A110 and Iris 501. It seems the Micromax A116 the quad core handset will be delayed cause of Chinese new year which means the dual core handsets will still be the preferred option for now.
Lemon Note P100 Key features and Specifications
  • Dual SIM with Dual Standby.
  • Dual core clocked at 1GHz (Possibly with MT6577 + PowerVR SGX 531 GPU).
  • ICS OS version 4.0.
  • 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage + micro SD support.
  • 5 inch capacitive touch screen with 960×640 pixels resolution.
  • 8MP rear and VGA front camera.
  • 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack.
  • G-Sensor, Light and Proximity sensors.
  • 2500 mAh battery.
The pricing details and availability dates are not known. I think the handset could be priced well below Rs. 10,000 as anything about it will make no sense.

Micromax A91 Spotted with 4.5 inch FWVGA Display, Dual Core MTK6577

Micromax A91 is just spotted! It’s a dual core smartphone running the MediaTek MT6577 SoC. The combination is dual Cortex A9 clocked at 1.0 GHz and PowerVR SGX531 GPU. Once again it will have 512 MB RAM which clearly suggest it’s going to be a low-cost smartphone. Micromax A91 is built in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform. The droid sports 4.5 inch display with FWVGA resolution. This is the screen resolution Micromax adopted for the high end models last year. Now they have moved to HD 720×1280 pixels in upcoming flagship A116 Canvas HD. Therefore, you can safely assume it’s going to be a low cost smartphone. One other thing playing in market is Karbonn S1 Titanium. It’s a quad core smartphone with 1 GB RAM. But the price of the Karbonn product is set to Rs 11000. Therefore, Micromax is sure to reduce the price of flagship A116 Canvas HD to around 12.5k-13k. Leaked image suggests Micromax A91 misses out LED flash which is not a good thing. One more interesting point about this handset is no IPS LCD panel is used here. It uses TFT LCD TN panel. IPS is well known for wide viewing angles. Micromax have been using this panel successfully in all recent high end smartphones. Anyway, take a look at the leaked specs-
